We provide support for students and faculty participating in online learning. Find out if online learning and/or teaching is for you. Check out our guides, tutorials, and FAQs about how to use Etudes, the online course platform that most online faculty use. Click on the links located on the left hand side of the screen to navigate through this website.

Faculty will find a wealth of material on how to create a course in Etudes and how to manage it once the course is running. Get started by clicking on Road Map
under Faculty in the navigation area.
Apply and Register
New and former students are eligible to register between July 22 and Sept 21
. Before registering you must submit an application to Foothill College. Visit the Foothill website for other important dates
- Apply Online
After you apply you must wait until your application has been processed before you can register for classes.
The wait is usually about a day during registration.
Fully Online vs. Hybrid?
Look at the end of the section number for your class to find out if it is fully online or hybrid. Visit Online Course Information for the schedule.
Fully Online: If you see a W, then the class is fully online and takes place almost completely via the Internet.
Hybrid: If you see a Y, then the class is hybrid and takes place via the Internet AND on campus. For details, contact the instructor, Campus Directory.
New Online/Etudes Students
Follow the Get Started Guide to find out everything you need to do to get registered and to learn about online courses and the Etudes platform. Make sure to attend an orientation to learn how to access your courses.
In addition to online tutoring through the Teaching and Learning Center, Foothill College is partnering with OpenStudy to offer you learning support. Visit Tutoring for more information.
The PSME Center also offers online tutorial resources including an online forum and scheduled live webconferencing.
