- El Camino Hospital: Community Outreach - Booth Attendant
Community outreach volunteers greet the public at health fairs and community functions
and educate the public about services available at El Camino Hospital. The schedule for
this volunteer is variable, but averages 3-4 hours each week.

- El Camino Hospital: Community Wellness Seminar Facilitator
Once a month, volunteers are needed to assist at El Camino Hospital's community
wellness seminars held at the City of Sunnyvale Council Chambers (1st Wed. each month).
These seminars feature experts on various topics related to health. Seminars are in the evenings
from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The assignment involves greeting attendees, having them sign in,
passing out papers, directing people to the restrooms, and assisting the seminar speaker.

- El Camino Hospital: Eldercare Patient Call Assistant
Eldercare patient call assistants make weekly calls to discharged patients and educate
these patients or their families about the supportive services available at El Camino
Hospital. Some computer entry and database knowledge required. Special projects may be
assigned as needed.

The Health Library & Resource Center, a Planetree Affiliate, offers a comprehensive range
of health information for both health consumers and medical professionals. Open to
the public, the Center is dedicated to helping patients, patient families and the community
obtain the information they need to make informed decisions about their health.

- El Camino Hospital: Hospital Guides
A new service called the "Auxiliary Hospital Guide Program" has been developed to help
direct patients and visitors throughout the hospital campus. Fifty new volunteers are
needed immediately to fill positions that will staff 5 key areas in the hospital.
Volunteer shifts are 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. -- one shift each week.

These volunteers help the public and patients with their health research needs and also
assist El Camino Hospital physicians, nurses, and employees with medical information requests.

- El Camino Hospital: Resource Center Assistant
These assistants greet patrons and serve as the main desk receptionist. They also assist
patrons and provide them an orientation to the library collection (books, videos,
tapes, journals, reference section) and Center resources. In addition, they schedule appointments
and provide administrative support for the Resource Center.

- El Camino Hospital: Roadrunners
Drivers make it possible for people to get to their doctor appointments for those who
cannot drive or who cannot arrange their own transportation. Drivers drive one day per week
or are on call. Requirements are a clean California Driver's License,
patience and dependability.

- Hidden Villa
Educate visitors of all ages about environmental sustainability and social justice at Hidden Villa. You will be trained to give 90-minute educational tours of Hidden Villa's sustainable farm, organic garden, green buildings, and communicate the historical legacy of the Duveneck Family. Volunteer on a weekly or monthly basis on Saturdays or Sundays from 10:30 a.m. 2:30 p.m.

Readers Needed!
Job Description: Read to children in pediatric departments while they wait for their doctor appointments at clinics. Most volunteers read for 2 hours per week, however, it's a flexible program and we can work with your schedule! We have volunteer reader opportunities at 5 clinics in the Bay Area: San Jose (3), Sunnyvale (1) and Gilroy (1).
