Foothill College Drama Department Presents
¿De Donde?

By Mary Gallagher
Directed by Tom Gough

STORY: Comprised of a panoramic series of short scenes and monologues, this powerful, moving, humorous and highly theatrical play examines the plight of undocumented immigrants fleeing poverty and oppression in Latin America--only to encounter new tests while battling bureaucratic rigidity on the U.S. side of the border. The heart of the story lies with an unidentifiable and courageous woman simply known as La Estrana (The Stranger) whose fear-driven decision to remain silent through her detention in the United States brings a wealth of unforeseen legal and personal challenges to her and her legal team.
