Employment Opportunities
Foothill College work opportunities are part-time positions. Wages begin at $8 per hour and can reach $14 per hour. Most students can work up to 25 hours per week while classes are in session and 40 hours during school recess breaks.
Non-need-based jobs are called District Employment and students must be enrolled a minimum of six units to be eligible for these jobs (12 units for International Students). The Policies and Procedures governing student employment are district wide and apply at both De Anza and Foothill Colleges. For on-campus student employment information, please visit the Financial Aid Office.
Federal Work Study (FWS)
The Federal Work-Study Program provides jobs for students who have financial need and want to earn a part of their educational expenses through employment. Community service work opportunities are also available through the Federal Work-Study Program. Students cannot work over the award amount allocated for a work-study assignment. When a work-study award is made, the student is responsible for arranging an interview with the Financial Aid Office for job placement.
