Foothill Music Theater Alum Wins Tony Award
From Award-Winning Foothill Music Theatre to Broadway's Aladdin

Foothill alum James Monroe Iglehart (pictured left as The Genie) garnered the coveted Tony Award for best performance by an actor in a featured role in a musical for the Broadway production of Aladdin. Bay Area audiences will remember Iglehart's starring performances in numerous award-winning Foothill Music Theatre masterpieces, including Show Boat, Sweeny Todd, Ragtime and others.

This was Iglehart's first Tony nomination and win. He has also appeared in Broadway productions of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Memphis.

A native of Hayward, he is also a member of the hip-hop improv group Freestyle Love Supreme.
