| In the News... | | | | Preparing Yourself for Global Careers: International Business & Cultural Implications | | November 19, 2009 | | Noon to 1 p.m. | As part of International Education Week, the presentation takes place in the Campus Center Hearthside Lounge (Room 2313) and will focus on discovering both the pros and cons of working internationally from professionals who have first-hand experience; learning how to prepare yourself to enter international careers; and understanding the importance of multicultural awareness. Informal Q&A will follow.
Guest speaker Kristel Nazzal worked in human resources for a multinational organization for more than five years in various capacities, including employee relations, recruitment, training and analyst work. One of those years was spent in England, where she offered support to colleagues in more than 15 countries. She is currently doing her doctorate in clinical psychology and has a particular interest in diversity and community mental health.
Guest speaker Dr. Helena Ting was senior vice president of corporate development at Visa, Inc., and managed international management development programs for a high-tech company of 22,000 employees worldwide. She has traveled extensively to Europe, Scandinavia, North and South America, Africa, Asia and Australasia. She appreciates different cultures and religions.
