Electronics Technology Now at Foothill

New Evening Program

This fall, Foothill unveils its new Electronics Technology Program which has been designed to train you for a rewarding career as a highly qualified electronics technician. You’ll alternate between classroom instruction and hands-on projects to develop the comprehensive training employers expect. For convenience, program courses meet weeknights at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills.

A wide range of employment opportunities exist for trained professionals in communication systems, semiconductor production and equipment manufacturing, industrial or medical measurement and control as well as computers and consumer electronics.

The program offers an entry-level Certificate in Electronics Technology (31 units) which can then be used to qualify for positions such as senior assembler, sub-assembly test technician and vacuum technician. The advanced-level Electronic Career Certificate (54 units) can be used to qualify for quality inspector, senior vacuum technician and senior repair technician positions. You can also choose to complete 90 units for the associate degree as an electronics technician, electromechanical technician or vacuum and equipment technician. With the associate’s degree, you can qualify for positions such as senior sub-assembly test technician, senior systems test technician and field engineer.
