I am endlessly amazed and enticed by the variety of cultures and individual personalities that exist in the world. I'd like to think that my own diversified interests have drawn me to ESL as a profession, and that teaching ESL students satisfies my need to interact with and help people from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

I earned a BA in Applied Liberal Studies from Western Michigan University and spent the following year in São Paulo, Brazil, where I first started teaching English. I then obtained an MA TESOL from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey and spent the next three years teaching and coordinating a wide range of courses at Yonsei University's Foreign Language Institute in Seoul, Korea.

I have been teaching ESLL at Foothill College since the Fall of 2010, including courses in Foundational English, Advanced Grammar, Advanced Reading, as well as Composition & Reading.

I am also working on a Master's in English Composition at San Francisco State University.

Personal Comments
I believe it is our differences that make us interesting. In understanding them, we come to realize how connected we actually are.
