The Foothill College Intensive Summer ESL Program is a great opportunity for international students with lower TOEFL/IELTS scores to start their studies at Foothill in the summer and transition directly into the fall quarter.

Who Can Participate in the Summer Bridge Program?
Students who have submitted an International Student Application and have been conditionally admitted for the fall quarter academic program.
Students with the following English test results:
TOEFL: 475-499 PBT, 151-172 CBT, 52-60 IBT, or IELTS: 5.5 5.9.
The Summer Bridge Program is also open to students with TOEFL scores above 500 PBT/61IBT or above IELTS 6.0.
International students must have completed secondary school/high school before the start of the Summer Bridge Program.
Program Cost The cost for the Summer Bridge Program is $2,000. This includes tuition, fees, health insurance, and a scheduled field trip. Housing, books, transportation, personal expenses, and food are not included. A $500 non-refundable deposit is required.

Application Procedure for the Summer Bridge Program
Submit an official TOEFL score between 475-499 PBT, 151-172 CBT, 52-60 IBT, or an IELTS score between 5.56.0. The Summer Bridge Program is also open to students with TOEFL scores above 500 PBT or 61 iBT, or above IELTS 6.0.
If you qualify for our Summer Bridge Program, you will receive a conditional admission letter and a Reply Form.
To reserve a place in the Summer Bridge Program, please send the Reply Form back to our office with the $500 non-refundable deposit. After May 28, course fees and deposit are non-refundable.
When your completed application packet is evaluated, and we determine that you qualify for admission to the Summer Bridge Program and to Foothill, we will send you an I-20 allowing you to apply for an F-1 student visa.
The $500 deposit will be refunded if the U.S. embassy denies your F-1 visa application with written proof of the denial. Make checks payable to "Foothill College." You can also pay your deposit or the entire balance by a personal credit or debit card. Please fax the completed credit card authorization form.
If your TOEFL or IELTS score is below our minimum requirement and you are accepted into the Summer Bridge Program, you will receive a Foothill I-20 and a conditional admission letter for the fall quarter.
Students who have met our required TOEFL or IELTS score will receive a Foothill I-20 and an official admission letter for the fall quarter.

Housing
International students participating in the Summer Bridge Program can stay with carefully screened American host families arranged by International Student Placements, an independent company that works closely with Foothill College. Homestay is strongly recommended for students studying abroad for the first time, and students who are under 18 years of age.

Fall Quarter Orientation and Registration
All students who successfully complete the Summer Bridge Program are required to attend the regular fall quarter orientation in late August or early September before registering for academic courses.
