- About: Foothill Today
Community colleges are the pathway to a college education and upward mobility for nearly 3 million Californians per year. As the largest system of higher education in the nation, the California Community Colleges enroll more than 65 percent of the state’s public college undergraduates. Foothill College is at the forefront of these efforts as one of the outstanding community colleges in the state and the nation.
Foothill acts as the conduit for developing community college curricula for STEM subjects, partnering with such institutions as UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, San Jose State, CSU East Bay, Stanford and foundations such as Gates and Carnegie as well as the National Science Foundation to ensure that students receive a high-quality and relevant education. Moreover, the college works with local elementary and secondary schools by providing STEM-related teaching kits and teacher development, paving the way for the next generation of college students.
